Amy Gear, our regular match reporter is fast asleep tonight after a wild saturday night !

Looks like some of the Panthers may of needed a little more sleep last night as they were once again caught napping by our bogey team Ilminster Town !

Having beat Ilminster 10-3 on the 1st game of the season things were a little different today. Although taking a 2-0 lead with Olly Gear scoring both in the first 20 minutes things soon changed after a very rare mix up between JT & Matthew...with JT calling for the ball it bobbled past them both with the Ilminster player tapping it into an empty net.

The boys were playing some great football but it was one of those days where we did not take our chances...and we had plenty of them !

Before the game had started we had let in only 6 goals this season...3 of those goals were in the 1st half against Ilminster in the 1st game of the season ! So 9 and a half games later we had still only let in 3 goals.

Second half started much as the 1st....the Panthers attacking but once again trying to walk the ball in to the net, chance after chance went begging and you could see what was going to happen !

Ilminster scored after the Panthers gave the ball away to make it 2-2.

The last 10 minutes was all pressure from the boys but just could`nt hit the net !

I have to say the Ilminster number 7 is one of the best players i have seen at this age group, although going off injured in the 1st half.

Big ,big speedy recovery to Captain Connor who after falling on his arm during the 1st half has returned from hospital plastered up. Broken wrist. Looks like i might be making a trip there myself after being hit by the ball during warm up....possible broken finger

Anyway...next week High Holborne Shield Semi Final against Ilchester Lions.........
